got cow...?

so im going to share some info i learned that is kinda funny but i think relatable in a weird way! I woke up yesterday morning to find my parents packing the freezer we have in our garage with half a friken cow! it was an insane amount of meat, it took probably 5 big boxes. my dad sat on the couch after they got done and started taking inventory (he made a spread sheet ha!) i asked him how much meat we actually got and the numbers really surprised me, even more, it was for only HALF a cow! first of all, the meat from the half cow weighs about 250 lbs. and the total cost of it with processing is $700. now that might seem like a lot but it comes out to only $2.95 per pound, which includes the best steaks. these numbers surprised me but after i thought about it... that amount lasts our family of 4 an entire year and so if a single guy bought that they could last a couple years from it which makes 700 dollars not look so bad.
just some food for thought.... lol
